ENGLISH TOWN CAMP – LA TOMA DEL AGUA

We’ve just come back from this year’s English Town Camp in Riópar. Our students from 1ºESO and 2ºESO participated in the full immersion camp for five days (19th-23rd June). They’ve been practising English 24 hours a day and they have attended English lessons and done multiple multi-adventure activities. As this year the weather was very hot, they could swim in the small lake that is adapted as a swimming pool.

The students took advantage of this experience in the best way possible as they really practised English all day long. They were able to improve their Communication Skills as they focused more on Speaking and Listening practice. At the end of the week, the students received Diplomas and some marks for their level of communication and commitment. Their marks were really good!

If you participated in the camp and you want to see all the pictures, you need to access the following link. A folder with the pictures will open and you will be able to download them.

EUROSCOLA – STRASBOURG VISIT TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

Thanks to our participation last year in the Euroscola Contest, we received an invitation to participate in the event for young students that took place at the European Parliament on 19th May. Our 4ºB ESO students spent the day in the shoes of a Member of the European Parliament. The debated, negotiated, voted and adopted resolutions on real Europe-wide issues. They expressed their concerns on European problems and some Member of the Parliament answered them. We spent the whole day practising English with other students from countries all over Europe. It was such a self-rewarding experience that the students will never forget.

BIG CHALLENGE CONTEST AND PRIZES

A new school year and a new Big Challenge test! This year, the students from 1ºESO, 2ºESO, 3ºESO and 4ºESO participated in the contest and received such amazing results! Two students got the 3rd position in the whole Region and one student achieved the second position. Two of those students got the 24th and 26th positions in Spain! These are awesome results if we take into account the number of students that have participated in the contest. There are around 800 students per level in Murcia and around 10,000 students per level in Spain. How proud we are of our students!

BILINGUAL WORKSHOP – SEMANA DE LA CIENCIA Y LA CULTURA

On 6th April, just before going on Easter holidays, the Bilingual Department organised an event in the Assembly Hall in which all the Bilingual subjects prepared an activity that they had practised throughout the year in order to make the students have control of it and show it to other students in 1ºESO. All the subjects participated and it was an absolute success! Every Bilingual student who volunteered at the stands got involved and really practised their English. Great job!
