CHRISTMAS EXHIBITION (1ºBACH) AND ACTIVITIES

It’s Christmas time! Christmas holidays are just around the corner and everyone at school is starting to celebrate! What are our students going to do?

1ºBachillerato (CLIL Section) students worked on an exhibition that they created themselves. They were asked to form different groups and they were given different topics related to the theme ‘Christmas Around the World’. They used computers in the ICT room and looked for information and pictures in order to highlight the most important features and traditions of Christmas time. Once they finished, we all created the exhibition and displayed it at the Hall of the school. All the students at the school could read it and enjoy it.

From 14th to 23rd December, the students were involved in different activities related to Christmas. 1ºESO students made snow globes following the teacher’s instructions and adding a Christmas Greeting Card inside. 2ºESO B students made a Christmas Greeting Card and a Christmas bookmark. They made it in class and later gave it to another student as a Christmas gift.

Finally, the CLIL Music teacher Javier Bermejo, rehearsed with the Choir group different English songs. They performed them in front of all the students at the Assembly Hall on the last day. They sang beautifully and also played some musical instruments. As an extra CLIL activity, Javier Bermejo together with our English Language Assistant (Ana S.) prepared an outstanding performance with 2ºESO B students. They also performed it in front of the whole school that day. It was the Cup Song!

LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE - HEALTHY BREAKFAST

On 13th November, 3ºESO B students prepared some posters in English to display them as an exhibition for the Healthy Breakfast event. These students were divided into 6 different groups and they were also given one specific country to focus on. They had to look for information about the traditional breakfast from those countries and classify them as healthy or unhealthy. You can check the results here!

In case you are wondering about the traditional types of breakfast people eat around the world, you can check this video. It’s so interesting!

HALLOWEEN AT SAMANIEGO

In order to celebrate Halloween as British and American people do, our students prepared some activities in class and they were shown an exhibition on the festivity from 26th to 30th October.
1ºESO students did a 3D paper pumpkin craft in class and later used it to decorate the school as you can see in the pictures. The followed the teacher’s instructions in English and the results were amazing! You can also do this handcraft at home. You just need:
A3 Orange cardboard
A4 Green cardboard
Black permanent marker
2 split pins
A hole puncher
Glue stick
A ruler

2ºESO students made different posters in groups showing some Halloween Recipes. They not only explained the recipes in front of the rest of the class but also made the recipes and brought them to class. They were so yummy!

3rd YEAR ESO PROJECT: A TOURIST GUIDE

At the end of the first term and following LOMCE’s criteria, 3rd year ESO students have been asked to prepare a project on an English-speaking city Tourist Guide leaflet.

They are going to prepare a guidebook of each city and present it in front of the class. The project features real-world contexts, tasks and tools that students need to access in order to develop their projects. Not only will they prepare informational leaflets but also PowerPoint presentations to explain the whole project to the rest of the class.

Here, students can find the template and download it in order to use it as a base for their leaflets. You just have to click on the link and download the Word document.
